Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Carpenter to join our team. This is an excellent

opportunity for individuals looking to begin a career in carpentry and gain hands-on experience in the

residential remodeling industry. The Apprentice Carpenter will work under the supervision of experienced

carpenters and learn various carpentry skills through on-the-job training.

Requirements

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

 A strong interest in carpentry and construction.

 Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

 Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.

 Willingness to learn and take direction.

 Reliable and punctual.

 Basic math skills.

Desired but not required Qualifications:

 Previous experience in construction or related fields.

 Enrollment in or completion of a pre-apprenticeship program or vocational training.

 Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

 Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs or more).

 Ability to work in various weather conditions.

 Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.

Responsibilities:

Learning and Assisting:

 Assist journeyman and lead carpenters with various tasks, including framing, finish carpentry,

trim work, demolition, and site preparation.

 Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

 Develop proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.

 Follow instructions and ask questions to gain a thorough understanding of carpentry

techniques.

Site Preparation and Cleanup:

 Prepare job sites for construction activities, including setting up tools and materials, and

ensuring a safe work environment.

 Maintain a clean and organized work site throughout the project.

 Clean up job sites after work is completed.

Material Handling and Organization:

 Load and unload construction materials.

 Organize and store materials properly.

 Transport materials to and from job sites as needed.

Safety and Compliance:

 Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA standards.

 Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

 Report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors immediately.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

 Assist in maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment.

 Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools to supervisors.
