Role: Communications and Training Writer (for non-technical audience)
Location: Foster City or Remote (open to fully remote candidates - must work within PST business hours)
Working Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm (PST time zone)
Role: As a Communications and Training Writer this role is responsible for developing content and materials related to a corporate-wide online tool launch based on an agreed upon launch plan. This role will be part of the team that supports the organizational and change management aspects of the tool s launch and will receive work assignments and guidance from the Procurement Strategy and Process Excellence Director who leads this technology s launch readiness approach, plan and execution.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Writes messages and develops training material for nontechnical audiences (MUST HAVE)
- Creates scripts for video tutorials.
- Tests and updates existing documentation.
- Adheres to and updates established style guide.
- Creates infographics and screenshot markups.
- Creates and builds user materials, including how-to sections, FAQs, and help sections.
- Updates, edits, and proofreads written materials such as user manuals, how-to guides, and FAQs.
- Works closely with subject matter experts, developers, business process owners and other members of the launch team.
- Monitors analytics on usage of training materials.
- Collects user data to determine areas of documentation that need revision and updating.
- Converts complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences (MUST HAVE)
- Communicates complex ideas in a concise manner.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Bachelor s degree or higher in communications, business or other related disciplines
- 3+ years of proven experience in communication and training writing and development (MUST HAVE)
- Excellent written communication, technical writing, training development skills (MUST HAVE)
- Can quickly understand and explain complex technical concepts
- Ability to undertake multiple projects and deliver on tight deadlines
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Experience working with and supporting multiple projects and teams simultaneously across a matrixed organization
- Instructional design experience is a plus
- Familiarity with content and learning management systems (CMS and LMS) is a plus
- Portfolio of writing samples for review required (MUST HAVE)

Interview process: most likely 1 interview with hiring manager (or 2 shorter back to back with manager + 1 colleague) - the hiring manager is the decision maker and will aim to move quickly through the selection process
