Role & Responsibilities:
Perform accurate data entry for customs entries and maintain organized records.
File ISF for all ocean shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
Assist with classifying products for customs brokerage shipments.
Support in-bond entries and bonded shipments as needed.
Help manage excess shipments for the Import Department.
Conduct audits and reviews of assigned brokerage files and customs payments to ensure accuracy.
Use resources like the U.S. Tariff Book and CROSS to classify commercial invoices correctly.
Input AMS data and HTS# information into systems, including timely transmission to U.S. Customs.
Prepare necessary entry documentation such as 7501 and 3461 forms.
Specialize in filing for remote locations, ensuring proper documentation and timely submissions.
Help maintain compliance with all import regulations and keep records up to date.
Ensure all documents and procedures align with U.S. Customs standards.
Manage delivery and invoicing of import accounts for services rendered.
File ISF on time, at least 72 hours before shipments depart the last origin port.
Prepare delivery orders, communicate with truckers, and follow up on proof of delivery (POD).
Process documents through the company's ABI system to secure Customs and government agency releases as required.
Review and address any Customs rejections or requests for additional information from clients.
Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in customs operations or a related field.
Basic background in freight forwarding operations.
Strong understanding of customs compliance and regulations.
Knowledge of U.S. importation processes.
Experience with freight forwarding and customs filing, especially entries with PGA information.
Ability to file ISF accurately and in a timely manner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an attention to detail.
