Job Summary: As a Junior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will work alongside experienced security professionals to help protect an organization\'s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, security-focused, and eager to learn the fundamentals of cybersecurity in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents using tools like SIEM (Security Information and Event Management).
- Support the identification, analysis, and mitigation of potential threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks.
- Help conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and security assessments.
- Contribute to incident response activities, including investigation and documentation of security events.
- Aid in enforcing security policies, procedures, and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement security best practices.
- Research and stay updated on the latest cyber threats, attack vectors, and defense mechanisms.
- Assist in maintaining logs, reports, and documentation related to security operations.
Requirements: Required Skills & Qualifications: - Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools like Wireshark, Nmap, Metasploit, and Splunk.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and basic scripting (Python, Bash).
- Awareness of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2).
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for writing reports and working with teams.
- A passion for cybersecurity and ethical hacking.
- Prior experience through internships, labs, or personal projects is a plus.
