Are you passionate about Artificial Intelligence and building impactful solutions? Do you enjoy solving challenging technical problems and working on cutting-edge AI projects? If so, spend a summer working with the Data & Generative AI department at Relias. You will contribute to advancing the Relias AI Assistant by implementing AI agents capable of autonomously performing user actions and acting as a natural language interface. You’ll gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art technologies and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Relias’s product offerings.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 
•    Build and enhance the Relias AI Assistant by developing AI agent functionalities beyond Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI agents into Relias’s ecosystem.
•    Work with large language models (LLMs) and frameworks such as LangChain to enable autonomous actions for the assistant.
•    Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented Python code using best practices.
•    Design and implement APIs using FastAPI and Pydantic to support the assistant’s functionalities.
•    Research and experiment with innovative techniques to improve user interactions and system performance.

YOU’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE:
•    Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
•    Coursework or projects demonstrating expertise in Python and AI-related concepts.
•    Familiarity with AI or machine learning techniques.
•    Strong programming skills in Python.
•    Knowledge of AI principles, including LLMs and AI agents.
•    Problem-solving mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaborativel

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAVE :
•    Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
•    Familiarity with building APIs and working in Agile environments.
•    Exposure to implementing AI systems in real-world applications.

Relias values collaboration and wants to ensure that our team members have opportunities to work with their teams regularly for professional development opportunities. Our flexible hybrid work environment requires that you live in the state of North Carolina, within a commutable distance to our office (~1-hour commute). You would be expected to work in our Morrisville, NC Headquarters 4 days per week.
