The Electronics Maintenance Technician II is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic systems and equipment on Ascension Island. This role ensures the operational efficiency of various electronic systems, including communication, navigation, and surveillance equipment, while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations. Position is located on Ascension Island. This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X. Responsibilities Major Job Activities: + Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electronic equipment and systems. + Diagnose malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and testing equipment. + Install, configure, and calibrate electronic components to ensure proper functionality. + Maintain and update records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system upgrades. + Ensure compliance with safety regulations and technical standards. + Collaborate with engineers and other technical personnel to resolve complex system issues. + Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and system failures. + Provide technical support and training to personnel as needed. + Maintain inventory of spare parts and request replacements as necessary. + Stay updated with advancements in electronic systems and industry best practices. Material & Equipment Directly Used: + May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE) such as flak vest and Kevlar helmet; may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment. + Use of cell phones to maintain contact and accountability of work activities. Working Environment: + The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Physical Activities: + Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion. + Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium. Qualifications Education: + High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associate's degree in electronics preferred. Certifications: + Must be eligible for Base Access / Clearance. Experience: + 3+ years of experience in electronic maintenance and repair. + Proficiency in reading technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. + Experience with electronic test equipment, troubleshooting tools, and diagnostic software. Skills & Technology Used: + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work in a remote and physically demanding environment on Ascension Island. + Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
