Job Description

SJCRH - Faculty position, Department of Radiation Oncology. We invite applications for a faculty position (clinician scientist or clinical track) at the instructor level from candidates with training in radiation oncology who demonstrate academic excellence and a strong commitment to clinical and translational research and patient care. The ideal applicant will also possess experience in leadership, mentorship, and education within an academic environment.

The Department of Radiation Oncology consists of several specialized sections, including faculty radiation oncologists, radiation oncology nursing, advanced practice providers, medical physics, medical dosimetry, radiation therapy, as well as clinical informatics and research support. Additionally, the Department maintains a strong affiliation with the St. Jude NCI-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center, whose programs emphasize both basic and translational research. This position will report directly to the department chair and deliver patient care services in coordination with faculty and staff.

The Department of Radiation Oncology fosters a collaborative and interactive environment, offering faculty substantial opportunities to engage in clinical, educational, and translational research initiatives. Each team member plays a crucial role by aligning with both departmental and institutional strategic objectives, actively pursuing faculty development, and advancing high-quality multidisciplinary care and research endeavors. Additionally, this position integrates clinical education into routine practice to provide a comprehensive learning experience for rotating medical students, radiation oncology residents, clinical fellows, and visiting participants from the St. Jude Global program.

Candidates must hold an MD, MD/PhD, DO, or UK/European equivalent, have training in radiation oncology, and qualify for Tennessee medical licensure, as clinical duties are required.

This is a remarkable opportunity to be part of a positive workplace where all employees, regardless of their role, share the same commitment to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses. St. Jude is consistently ranked on Fortune Magazine's "100 Best Places to Work For" and has been listed on Glassdoor’s 100 Best Places to Work for the last 6 years for companies with 1,000 or more employees.

This position is based in Memphis, TN with relocation assistance available. The facilities and salaries are competitive, and a generous benefit package is included. Memphis is a family-friendly metropolitan area that is recognized for its world-class music, food, and hospitality. Mild winters and beautiful green spaces are part of the reasons why Forbes recently named Memphis the 4th happiest city in which to work.

To apply: A curriculum vitae and letter of inquiry should be submitted directly online.
