We are looking for an Instrument and Electrical Engineer to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Palmyra, MO.

As an Instrument and Electrical Engineer, you will lead or support projects, provide technical support to maintenance and operations, and participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and audits. You will work closely with other disciplines, collaborate with production and maintenance personnel, and provide services related to instrument design and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will ensure a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Ensuring compliance with BASF Technical Standards, industry standards, and applicable regulatory and design codes for specific jobs and projects.
  • Collaborating with a team of experienced colleagues to continuously develop both technical skills and organizational capabilities.
  • Specifying instrumentation, controls, and electrical equipment; working with vendors to identify solutions, assisting in troubleshooting, and providing technical support for equipment procurement.
  • Addressing action items and engineering requests from operations or maintenance, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Providing technical support and expertise to projects, maintenance, and operations to improve the reliability and maintainability of I&E equipment, with occasional on-call responsibilities.
  • Interfacing with E/I Team members, maintenance personnel, project staff, and production/operations staff to support safe and reliable production at multiple chemical manufacturing plants on site.
  • Providing detailed information for procurement, project information, and work requests, and tracking and coordinating progress to meet deliverable deadlines.

If you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Electrical Engineering, while consideration will be given to related disciplines combined with relevant experience (i.e., Mechanical or Chemical Engineering).
  • Have 7 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing environment, or other relevant industry.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of instrument and electrical design.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Show great problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Have experience with SAP, DCS, SIS, or PLC, which is a plus.
  • Hold or can obtain ISA CAP or PE certification, which is a plus.
