Job Description

An irrigation manager oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use in landscaped areas. Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include: • Managing irrigation schedules • Monitoring system performance • Coordinating repairs and upgrades, and ensuring compliance with water regulations • They work closely with account managers and their irrigation techs to optimize water use for plant growth, train staff on irrigation techniques • May also handle budgeting and procurement of irrigation equipment • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role Qualifications: Experience: • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in irrigation management • Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining irrigation systems. Technical Skills : • Proficiency with irrigation software and technologies. • Smartlink, Weathermatic Experience • Knowledge of various irrigation systems and their components (e.g., drip, sprinkler, center pivot). • Understanding of water management practices and principles. Certifications : • Certifications such as Certified Irrigation Designer (CID), Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor (CLIA), or other relevant credentials are highly desirable. Analytical Skills : • Ability to analyze water usage data and system performance. • Competence in creating and managing irrigation schedules based on plant needs and weather conditions. Problem-Solving Skills : • Strong troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving irrigation system issues. Project Management : • Experience in managing projects, including budgeting, procurement, and team coordination. Communication Skills : • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training techs and writing reports. • Spanish speaking is a plus Physical Fitness : • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and perform physical tasks related to irrigation system maintenance and installation.
