We are seeking a Locums Pediatric Hospitalist Physician with pediatric experience to provide Newborn Nursery coverage on a per diem basis in Athens, Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with NICU support from Neonatologists, ensuring high-quality, family-centered care for newborns.
Assignment Details:
Shift: 24-hour shift of rounding plus offsite call

Responsibilities:
Newborn Nursery Care: Provide comprehensive care for healthy newborns, including admission exams, daily rounding, and discharge summaries.
NICU Collaboration: Partner with Neonatologists for NICU support and management of newborns requiring higher levels of care.
Procedures: Perform circumcisions and manage standard newborn procedures.
Pediatric Consultations: Offer expert consultations to the Emergency Department, including timely assessment and management recommendations for pediatric patients.
Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with a team of Pediatric Hospitalists and Neonatologists to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Participate in CQI initiatives and clinical research projects to improve patient outcomes and promote best practices.
Knowledge Exchange: Engage with a broad network of providers—including over 400 NICUs and thousands of clinicians—to share insights and enhance clinical expertise.
Requirements:
Board Certified in Pediatrics
Active Ohio License or IMLC Compact Eligible
Minimum of 1 year post-residency experience required
Recent clinical experience within the past 12 months
Proficiency in newborn care and procedures such as circumcision
