Medical Director of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care

Riverside Health is currently seeking an experienced leader to join our well-respected trauma and surgical critical care team at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Newport News, Virginia. As the only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region, RRMC offers a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where compassionate, expert care meets collaboration and innovation.

About Riverside Health

An integrated, not-for-profit health system with 4 hospitals and over 100 ambulatory practices
• Over 750 providers across primary care and specialties

Hospital Highlights:
• Single hospital coverage – not travel required
• 15.25 twelve-hour shifts/month schedule
• Team of 5 experienced Trauma Surgeons and 5 dedicated APPs
• 18-bed Surgical ICU with full Intensivist support
• Supportive in-patient APP coverage 7 days a week
• The only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region
• 450 bed hospital, join a team of five Trauma Surgeons

Required Qualifications:
• Completion of ACGME both General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
• Board Certification / Board Eligible
• Demonstrated leadership experience leading surgical critical care or trauma teams, collaborative interpersonal style, and solid oral and written communication skills
• Collaborative approach with other physicians and APPs
• Ability to provide guidance to other medical staff
