About the Mobile Diesel Reefer Mechanic/Technician Role

As a Mobile Diesel Reefer Mechanic/Technician, you’ll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is perfect for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety in their work. You’ll be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks, trailers, and reefer units, including emergency roadside service when needed.

Where You’ll Make an Impact 

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks, trailers and refrigeration systems in a mobile field environment . 

• Perform maintenance and repair of Thermo-King and Carrier refrigeration units and auxiliary power units. 

• Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency. 

• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance. 

• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems - everything that keeps a fleet running strong. 

• Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast . 

• Put your expertise to work using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right. 

• Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards. 

• Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times . 

• Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving. 

• Take ownership of a company-issued service truck , perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safety compliance. 

• Jump in wherever needed – we're a team that supports each other . 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

• At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.

• Some experience with light repairs or preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems . 

• DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise that keeps fleets rolling safely.

• Strong communication skills – you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.

• Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.

• Ready for the outdoors – rain or shine at customer yards. 

• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated – you take pride in getting the job done right. 

• A positive attitude and safety-first mindset. 

• 609 certification is desired, but not required. 

• Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license .

• Bring your own hand tools and we’ll supply everything else. 

Work Environment 

• Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas – safety and precision are key. 

• Expect exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment. 

• Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work. 

• Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components. 

• Stay active – you'll bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components.

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions – rain or shine, our team gets it done.
