Job Description

Motion Designer Location Houston, TX :

The Motion Designer will support the Video Producer & Communications Team with all aspects of producing, developing, filming, launching and promoting videos for Farouk Systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily creation of graphic/animated elements and video editing for broadcast and brand promotions including internal sales reels, education/training and web-based content.
  • Effectively communicate concepts and ideas to producers and clients
  • Involvement within most phases of the development process, including concept development, storyboarding, animation, graphic design and production.
  • Works created span a variety of mediums and types including Internet video, trailers, shorts, teasers, product demos, commercials and post-production pieces.
  • Working with coordinators, writers, directors to design and build compelling high quality animation productions.
  • Utilizing conceptual and design skills to bring ideas to life.
  • Shaping the details of video/animation projects by providing cutting edge techniques and technologies
  • Managing deadlines and executing on-time and on-task
  • Staying current with production tools and technology advancements
  • Managing multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • MUST HAVE a demo reel and be able to explain your participation in each project
  • 3+ years professional experience as a Motion Designer or Junior Motion Designer
  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, or other related field preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of Broadcast (TV) standards for use in production.
  • Ability to draw/sketch or create digital storyboards
  • Must have good design, layout, typography and color theory skills
  • Experience with MacOS
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts.
  • Proven process improvement, process design and problem-solving abilities.
  • Large-project organization skills
  • Eye for design and composition
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Suite: After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects simultaneously
