Plastic Extrusion Operator - PSC41625

Pay: $15 - 30/hour + Benefits

Industry: Plastic Extrusion Manufacturing

Schedule: Monday - Friday | Day Shift

A leading custom plastic extrusion facility in Wisconsin is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Plastic Extrusion Operator to join our first-shift production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plastic extrusion processes and a commitment to producing high-quality profiles. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization focused on precision, safety, and continuous improvement. Candidates with extensive experience may also be considered for a Supervisor role, offering a clear path for advancement within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust plastic extrusion equipment for optimal production.
  • Interpret technical drawings, part specs, tolerances, and packaging instructions.
  • Use precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to inspect and verify product quality.
  • Safely shut down, disassemble, clean, and prep equipment between runs.
  • Follow SOPs and written procedures to maintain product consistency.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet production goals.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and readiness for future supervisory roles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; must be 18+ years or older.
  • Strong attendance record and dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience with extrusion tooling setup and function required.
  • Knowledge of extrudable materials and their behaviors in the extrusion process.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in plastic extrusion or related manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Understanding of extruder temperature zone controls and their impact on production.
