Roles and Responsibilities:
Own the frontend development of our React Native app, with occasional full-stack contributions.
Work directly with our designer to implement a full app redesign, shipping fast and iterating based on feedback.
Collaborate closely with the CEO and head engineer to align technical decisions with product goals.
Join a tight, fast, low-bureaucracy dev loop, quickly deploying and improving features for a large user base.
Operate independently and confidently, driving projects from concept to deployment.
Be our first in-person engineer, leading the frontend while interfacing with a remote dev team.
Job Requirements:
5–10 years of professional software engineering experience, including time spent building React Native or mobile apps.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Native. Comfortable shipping polished mobile products.
History of working in startup or small team environments, with high ownership and velocity.
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English.
Able to demonstrate technical excellence—via a shipped app, website, GitHub repo, or similar.
Willing and able to work in-person at our SF Mission District office at least 4 days/week.
A self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, unstructured environments and learns independently.
Passionate about building useful tools that empower everyday people—especially gig workers.
