Job Description

Salary: 80,000 - 120,000 USD per year Requirements:

• An active Secret clearance is required.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens with no dual citizenship due to agency and contract requirements.
• This is an on-site position at a government facility, requiring presence five days per week in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Candidates must reside within a commutable distance.
• Participation in a rotational on-call schedule for emergency page-outs is required.
• A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is necessary.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience working as a system administrator on Linux or Red Hat systems is required; related experience is acceptable.
• Preferred certifications include Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

Responsibilities:

• I manage and support the RHEL-based server infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
• I perform system administration tasks for RHEL 7.x/8.x, focusing on setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance.
• I monitor and analyze system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• I execute system backup and recovery operations to ensure data protection and high availability.
• I assess and recommend hardware and software solutions to address business needs and improve the RHEL server environment.
• I develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
• I conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Tenable, HP WebInspect, and similar platforms.
• I investigate security incidents, assess risks, and design mitigation strategies, implementing proactive and reactive measures to enhance security.
