The Loyalty Analytics team is committed to driving growth and change through data-driven insights. Our team is pushing for innovation and leveraging analytics to shape the future of Target. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is passionate about data and eager to make a significant impact.

The Senior Data Analyst plays a crucial role in our analytics team, providing deep insights and strategic recommendations to drive business growth. This position requires a highly analytical individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their analytical and reporting needs and provide actionable insights through the resulting work.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business initiatives and solve business problems.
  • Present findings and recommendations to key leaders and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts in best practices and advanced analytical techniques.

About you: 

  • Four-year degree in a technical field (Statistics, Mathematics or a related field) or equivalent experience
  • Advanced technical degree a plus
  • 3+ years in quantitative data analysis, with strong industry performance
  • 5+ years experience preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills, with a curious mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Robust data mining and data creation ability
  • Ability to support conclusions and recommendations through a clear, understandable story that leverages insight drawn from descriptive statistics, basic inferential statistics, and data visualizations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and techniques
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in analytical and data visualization tools including: SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau and/or equivalent technologies
    • Advanced SQL experience writing complex queries
    • Intermediately accomplished with Python or R

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as “Flex for Your Day”) work arrangement based on Target’s needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.

The pay range is $87,000.00 – $156,000.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
