Job Title: Research ChemistJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Research Chemist to gather and analyze pH buffering data across various ingredients and formulations, aiming to understand pH behavior and its impact on product stability. You will build and refine predictive models based on data collected from ingredient and formulation testing, validate the accuracy and reliability of these models through testing, and provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support the commercialization of new products.
Responsibilities
+ Gather and analyze pH buffering data across a variety of ingredients and formulations to understand pH behavior and its impact on product stability.
+ Build and refine predictive models for pH behavior based on data collected from ingredient and formulation testing.
+ Validate the accuracy and reliability of predictive models through testing and comparison with experimental results.
+ Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support the commercialization of new products, ensuring alignment with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
+ Collaborate closely with R&D Services, R&D Developers, and Quality Assurance to ensure effective contribution to product development and scale-up activities.
+ Strategize ingredient testing and perform data analysis for the predictive models.
+ Input data into the Excel library and improve its formatting to best suit project needs.
+ Follow priority task lists and perform calculations by understanding basic chemistry principles.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or advanced degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
+ Understanding of pH systems.
+ Experience with statistical analysis tools and software for data modeling and validation.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including Vlookup, pivot tables, and pivot graphs.
+ Strong math and statistical background .
+ Experience with pH titrations in an industry setting, preferably within food manufacturing.
+ Understanding of Chemistry principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Masters in Food Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
+ 1+ years of chemistry experience in a food manufacturing company.
+ Experience with model validation and data analysis.
Work Environment
You will be working Monday through Friday, with a flexible start time around 8 AM, in an office setting with an R&D prep kitchen located in Brea, CA. The role involves close collaboration with a microbiologist and another experienced team member.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
