Description Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious
Roll-Off Driver to join our team in
Lakeland, FL . This role is responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to deliver, empty, and pick up containers at commercial and residential customer sites. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy-duty vehicles, strong attention to safety and DOT regulations, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Job Functions - Safely operate a roll-off truck to transport and pick up containers.
- Secure containers using cables or hooks and operate control levers to load containers onto truck beds.
- Properly tarp containers and secure loads as required.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections according to DOT and company standards.
- Maintain accurate daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
- Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
- Keep the truck clean and in good working condition, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and general mechanical health.
- Communicate with customers courteously and professionally, answering basic questions and directing inquiries to the Customer Service or Sales team.
- Ensure all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies are followed at all times.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Requirements - Class A/ B CDL (valid in the state of Florida).
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Roll-off experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to communicate with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and commercial vehicle laws.
- Ability to hear within normal range (with or without correction) and see within normal range (with or without correction).
Schedule - Typical Hours: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM (start times may vary based on customer needs)
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Weekend availability as needed
