Location & Work Arrangement

• City, State: Columbia, South Carolina
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week required).
• Engagement Type: 12-Month Contract (Possibility for extension).
• Residency Requirement: Current South Carolina residents only. No relocation is permitted for this role.
• Interview Mode: Single round via Microsoft Teams (Video required).

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Incident Response

• Serve as an expert in security continuous monitoring and log analysis.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on SIEM and EDR/XDR event data.
• Lead incident response processes, threat assessments, and computer forensic investigations to mitigate breaches.
• Maintain detailed records of security events and remediation activities.

Engineering & Administration

• Plan, implement, and upgrade security measures for both LAN and cloud-based network security.
• Administer modern security tools including Tenable , PAN Cortex XDR , Office 365 Security , and Microsoft Defender .
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards to protect digital assets.

Risk Analysis & Reporting

• Conduct security assessments of systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities.
• Create risk analysis documents, including data flow and sequence diagrams.
• Generate complex security reports using SQL queries , API integrations , and Power BI .

Required Technical Skills & Experience

Requirement

Toolsets

Deep experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR , and IPS/IDS .

Expertise in creating security policies, standards, and risk docs.

Automation

Proficiency in Python, PowerShell , or C/C++.

Ops Framework

Proven experience with Red/Blue Team methodologies.

O365 Security

Hands-on Office 365 Security Administration.

4+ Years

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst.
• Advanced knowledge of "Blue Team" tools ( SCAP workbench , hardening) and "Red Team" tools ( nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit ).
• Professional Certifications: CISSP (highly weighted), CSSP, SSCP, or CEH .
• Experience with data blending and advanced report automation via Power BI.
