**Senior EHS Manager** Science & Research Fremont, CA, US Pay Rate Low: 65.00 | Pay Rate High: 67.00 + Added - 08/03/2025 Apply for Job The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the BIFI site. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. The EHS Manager promotes a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement across the organization. **Location:** Fremont, CA **Schedule:** Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM **Type:** Contract-to-hire **Pay:** $65/hr **Key Responsibilities:** + Manage and improve EHS programs, including Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Safety, Process Safety, Biosafety, PPE, and General Safety. + Oversee environmental programs such as Air Emissions, Wastewater Management, Waste Disposal, and Groundwater Protection. + Serve as Biological Safety Officer and participate in emergency response planning and drills. + Support site safety culture through training, committee leadership, and communication of BE SAFE and BE GREEN initiatives. + Develop and maintain EHS management systems, policies, and procedures. + Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies. + Perform risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses. + Lead audits, inspections, and continuous improvement projects. + Act as a business partner to departments across the site, supporting EHS needs and resolving issues. + Occasionally respond to off-hours emergencies or events as needed. **Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field. + 8-10 years of experience in EHS at an operational or manufacturing facility. + 4-6 years of experience leading EHS projects or initiatives. + Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards. + Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with cross-functional teams. + Reliable, dependable, and committed to fostering a safe work environment. + Available to work flexible hours, including off-shifts when necessary. + Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks during inspections or emergency response. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
