Summary:
As a Service Writer, you’ll play a vital role in the success of our Service Department. You’ll be the key link between our technicians, management, and customers - ensuring clear communication, efficient workflows, and an exceptional service experience from start to finish. From coordinating repairs and tracking work orders to supporting both the front line and behind-the-scenes operations, your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will help keep everything running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Deliver top-notch customer service (in person and by phone)
- Open, update, and close work orders with accuracy and detail
- Monitor job status, technician progress, and work order backlog
- Keep technicians informed with clear communication and updates
- Translate technician notes into clear, professional documentation
- Handle invoicing, credits, and expense reports
- Schedule travel and accommodations for technicians
- Maintain organized records, WIP reports, and supply inventories
- Assist with payroll entries and timecard accuracy
- Prep documentation for Davis-Bacon jobs and labor analysis reporting
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring:

- Solid written and verbal communication abilities
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- 2+ years of administrative experience (bonus if it’s in a service setting)
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
