Job Description

American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) is looking for a full-time Shipping and Production Assistant to join our small team committed to ensuring our students and customers receive the highest quality natural products.

The Work You’ll Do in this Role

• Receive and handle products in compliance with Oregon Tilth organic certification procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including packaging and building essential oils, botanicals, and other raw ingredients. 
• Package products with strong attention to detail and care for the aesthetic of the product, including accurate and attractive labeling.
• Pull, pack, and ship retail orders and academic supplies to students across the U.S. and internationally, ensuring the accuracy of all products shipped and accompanying documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory of materials and supplies through thorough record-keeping and reporting damages and/or discrepancies during the shipping and receiving process.
• Cleaning and building maintenance in accordance with GMP and organic standards, including keeping inventory shelves organized and labeled.
• Accurately file production and shipping records. 
• Assist other staff members when needed.

• Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Has good analytical/problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Has good math skills, including the ability to convert weights, measurements, volumes, etc. 
• Has good computer skills, including familiarity with Mac computers.
• Has strong interest in working with natural and certified organic products.
• Experience with botanicals, essential oils, or other dietary supplements in a GMP facility is a plus.

Position Status 

• Full-time non-exempt 
• Reports to the Production Lead
• Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm, additional hours may be required as job duties demand. 
• Onsite at 5005 S. Macadam Ave. Free parking. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work is generally performed indoors in a storage, sorting and fulfillment area, and in a lab that requires the use of PPE (lab coat, hair covering, gloves, and mask; artificial nails, eyelashes and jewelry is not permitted during production). Frequent exposure to fragrant herbs and oils

• Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, reach, climb, push, and pull frequently
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 20 lbs frequently
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 21-30 lbs occasionally
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 31-50 lbs infrequently
