Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments and trays.
- Operate sterilizers, washers, and other processing equipment according to protocols.
- Verify functionality and cleanliness of instruments before packaging.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance.
- Prepare and label sterile supplies and ensure proper storage.
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to meet instrument and supply needs.
- Report damaged or missing instruments promptly.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and equipment monitoring.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Central Service Technician program preferred.
- Certification (CRCST, CBSPD, or equivalent) preferred or required per facility policy.
- Previous experience in sterile processing or healthcare setting desirable.
