Stone Cutter I

Job Summary

L.G. Everist, Inc., founded in 1876, produces and supplies sand, gravel, quarried rock, concrete and asphalt to greater Siouxland.   We are currently looking for a Stone Cutter I to join our growing team.  A Stone Cutter I is responsible for the cutting of stone, tool maintenance, and equipment operation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Does not have any direct reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cut custom stones and monuments

• Dress and square up stone

• Equipment and tool maintenance

• Ability to run the splitter

• Run equipment such as a haul truck, skid loader, and telehandler

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Keen attention to detail

• Good work attendance is a must

• Ability to work safely in a team environment

Education and Experience

·         High School diploma or GED

·         Valid Driver's license is preferred

Physical Requirements

·         Performing the job’s essential functions requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; also walking over uneven terrain and climbing ladders

·         This position must frequently lift, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds  and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with or without assistance
