Job Description

Here Tomorrow is hiring a Teen Peer Support Specialist   as a full-time position in Jacksonville, Florida. 
 
Position Summary : The Teen Peer Support Specialist has a vital role in the mission of Here Tomorrow, “to transform lives by building a community where mental healthcare is acceptable and accessible.” This position will focus on engaging teens who are contemplating seeking help to address mental health conditions and providing support and inspiration to begin the journey towards recovery. The Teen Peer Specialist will collaborate with the Here Tomorrow Team and community service organizations to ensure timely access to mental healthcare and social support.   
 
We inspire hope and provide real help to people at risk for suicide and their families through same-day peer mental health support and timely access to outpatient mental healthcare. We have developed a new concept in the mental health continuum of care—a safe, nonjudgmental, physical and virtual place to have a conversation about mental health. We are looking for people with lived experience who share our passion and want to inspire and support others.  
 
Responsibilities:  
  • Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.  
  • Assist people to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
  • Assist and coach recovering people to develop their own plan for advancing recovery and creating the life they want.   
  • Document all service activities in customer relations management platform.   
  • Increase constituent satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy at every touchpoint.   
  • Widen the impact of Here Tomorrow in the community by promoting the services of the organization in the community.   
  • Collaborate with team to develop innovative approaches for engaging at-risk individuals, their families and those who may be able to intervene to prevent tragedy.   
  • Assist those seeking help with accessing mental healthcare in the community by linking them with mental health treatment providers, community resources, and enrolling them with Here Tomorrow programs.   
  • Promote a person-centered approach to serving people with mental health conditions.   
  • Live the Here Tomorrow mission and organizational values of love, sharing, accountability and perseverance.   
 
Qualifications:  
  • Applicants must be certified or eligible for certification as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) in the State of Florida.   
  • Must have lived experience that occurred during their teen years and be in recovery for a minimum of 2- years from mental health and/or substance use condition.  

Program Alumni Clause: Applicants who have used Here Tomorrow services as a Friend must have a two-year gap since their last session or be at least two years post-program completion.
