Summary :

Thesis Processors in the Thesis Processing Office (TPO) ensure all student theses meet the rigorous formatting, citation, and compliance standards required for final publication by NPS and the Department of Defense. The role blends editing expertise, administrative precision, and student support.

Key Responsibilities :

• Format and review up to 750 theses, capstone reports, and dissertations annually
• Guide students through thesis submission processes and compliance requirements
• Lead thesis formatting and compliance briefings
• Assist students with citation styles, distribution statements, and final publication prep
• Track thesis status in centralized systems and reconcile final packages for library submission
• Conduct quality assurance checks, especially during peak graduation periods

Qualifications :

• BA in English, communication, or related field with GPA 3.25
• 3+ years of experience in academic document editing and formatting
• Knowledge of APA, Chicago, IEEE, and other citation styles
• Strong skills in MS Word (advanced formatting), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint
• Excellent recordkeeping and time management abilities
